Communities and Volunteering

We work with families and communities to create health and wellbeing activities, host community organisers and provide training for aspiring community leaders.

Our whole family and community approach enables us to achieve long lasting and positive outcomes. Activities and events are designed to break cycles of deprivation, poor physical and mental health and low self esteem.

Our opportunities are underpinned by the following principles:

  • We recognise the potential within families and communities, supporting people to seek and develop solutions beyond public and specialist services, drawing on community, social capital and family based resources.
  • We recognise that children live within families, adopting a whole family approach to all that we do, ensuring that families are supported to interact positively with their children and transferring skills to families to continue learning beyond our services.
  • We adopt a restorative approach, working with communities without judgement to overcome issues, re-establish relationships and instilling a culture of social responsibility and shared accountability.

Our opportunities are tailor made to reflect the diversity within communities and different organisation’s requirements.
