Where are you based?

Our offices are based at Better Leeds Communities (formally the Burley Lodge Centre), 42-46 Burley Lodge Road, Leeds, LS6 1QF.

Do you project offer home visits?

Yes. We prefer if possible to arrange appointments either at Better Leeds Communities or a mutually covenant location but if you, or your client, has special needs and requires a home visit we be happy to check if this is possible.

What is your referral process?

We accept referrals from agencies and clients directly. If you are an agency we ask that you complete the below referral form and email it to horizons@betterleeds.org.uk. Members of the public are free to get in touch with us first to see if they are eligible for assistance on this project.

I’m not in crisis at the moment but I would like to see if I am entitled to any extra help, can you suggest any organisations that can help?

Yes. Please click here for our useful contacts page, the advice centre at Better Leeds Communities may also be able to assist, their page can be found here.

I need a food parcel, do you have them at your centre?

We do not have food parcels at our centre but we can issue Food Bank vouchers for our clients. If you are eligible to receive a food bank voucher we will give you the address of your nearest food bank in which to collect it from.

Is there any restrictions for using this service?

Crisis can hit at any point of our lives so our service is designed to assist as many people as possible. There is no age limit to use our service (although we require clients to be at least 18 years old as a minimum) nor is location restricted so long as the client lives within a Leeds postal code. For restrictions relating to the type of crises we can assist with, please refer to this FAQ for more information.

I have an Immigration/ Asylum/ No Recourse to Public Funds issue, can you help?

We currently do not have any in-house specialists in this field. While we are currently not accepting clients with these types of issues please still give us a call as we may be able to sign post you to another service that may be able to assist. You may be eligible for assistance on the Better Leeds Communities Children Centre Project if you have children under the age of 5. Please give us a call to check.
